The Making of Solange’s ‘A Seat at the Table’ Album (Documentary)

solange-documentary

Solange’s A Seat at the Table album, like so many others in recent years, may have come out of nowhere, but the project was a long time in the making (and you can tell — it’s amazing!) In this new documentary dubbed A Seat at the Table, Beginning Stages, Ms. Knowles shares the creative process behind her latest LP, which began to take shape as far back as 2013. There are no interviews or commentary here — just raw studio footage as Solange jams away with Sampha, session musicians and her son, Julez, putting together what would go on to become one of the best albums of 2016.
